How Far Along: 33 weeks today

Maternity Clothes: Wore my new Old Navy full panel jeans tonight for the first time and it was heaven. Also got some really cute tops from Old Navy. (worn in the picture)

Gender: BOY!!!

Movement: Oh yea but the movements are different now, he pushes on my tummy. I think he's tall(I'm 6' and Preston is 6'2'') and trying to make room.

Sleep: Hate sleeping on my side. Lots of tossing and turning. And lately I fall asleep fast and go into a deep sleep until it's bathroom time. (getting up 3-4 times a night)

Cravings: Chocolate. Cereal. Black Beans.

Best Moment of this week: We got a lot done for the nursery (sneak peak in the picture) and it's all coming together.

Maternity Clothes: Oh yes indeed. I have yet to switch to full panel jeans though and wondering if I should make the switch. Oh and Gap body maternity stuff is the bomb.

Movement: Baby boy loves 5am - loves it and then loves to move until about 630. Rise and Shine!

Sleep: Hate sleeping on my side. Lots of tossing and turning.

Cravings: Chocolate. Oranges.

Best Moment of this week: Being home for the Holidays and my birthday.

Spa Day at Bliss

Big Birthday Dinner

Few things to note:

♥ That Publix cake rocked my socks off - Publix makes the best cakes

♥ Bliss was amazing (thanks for the reco girls) - and we spent a lot of time in our robes, using all the products they had and then having a little snack before we left all thanks to the husband who set the whole thing up for us.

♥ My best friend is beautiful and has the biggest heart - she just knows and gets me and from going to spa or shopping with her or simply doing nothing it's always the best time and full of laughs.

♥ Loved getting a whole cake delivered to our table for the two of us

♥ Here's to 30! I'm so excited!!!

ASOS Maternity

I just got my order today and it was a total score.

Oh and girls I just saw this dress and wish I would have scoped it up - I'm crazy about horse print right now. Somebody please buy this!

My only one little thing was that shipping took a bit longer than expected. Luckily I didn't need anything asap but keep that in mind when ordering.

How Far Along:  This was taken on Friday so I was exactly 22 weeks in this picture.

Maternity Clothes:  They are oh so very comfy. Although I'm having a really hard time find a cute Baby Shower dress. Any ideas??

Gender: BOY!!!

Movement: He's moving all about and giving some good kicks.

Sleep: I love sleep and sleep loves me. But no matter how much I sleep it's never enough. I think it's because of all the tossing and turning.

What I miss:  Just having my normal energy and my normal schedule.

Cravings: Chocolate. Mashed Potatoes .

Best Moment of this week: When Preston felt the baby kick. It was a great moment.

Cali Love - Big Sur

On a whim we decided to head to Big Sur for a few days.

We found a beautiful house - rented it right up and then headed to Big Sur.

Yall the house was amazing and the views incredible.

The first day we had perfect weather the second day some fog rolled in and we got to enjoy the Ocean for a bit when the fog rolled out. But still just wonderful weather.

We cooked dinners, enjoy late night fires and it was truly the best time.

I know this is long overdue and these two ladies(Sarah and Megan) just can't wait any longer.

We found out right before we left for Cali and then we surprised my family with the news in Cali.

I'm a little mad at myself for not getting more pics of the night and how I told them - because I got none! drats!

and like my Mom said - we have the memory.

Right after my Mom opened the gift. SO happy!

My Dad had to start texing all his friends.

Cali Love - Day 2

On the second day we headed to San Fran.

Man alive the place was busy!

We ended walking from the start of the Trolley ride to the the water.(the line was WAY too long ) It was a long uphill walk for this pregnant lady.

We hung out for a bit by the water and took it all in.

Not gonna lie it was extremely touristy.

We enjoyed the day and the experience and then headed back to Oakland.

California Love -Day 1

We headed to Cali last week for 6 days to visit my older sister and my brother in law. My Mom and Dad also made the trip out.

I was blown away by Cali and it's beauty and I loved all the time I got to spend with my sister.

We spent the first Day in Oakland.

From long walks through Berkeley Park, vegan soul food restaurants and the most amazing sunset - I'd say the first day was a success.

How Far Along: This is from Big Sur Cali - I was 19 weeks 3 days (I'm a week behind since I'm 20 weeks as of yesterday) Oh and that's a view(really one of the many views) from the house we stayed at...amazing!

Maternity Clothes: I totally popped in Cali. Must of been the West Coast air. So hello maternity pants.

Gender: We know and we are so very excited. We will share soon.

Movement: Kicking away.

Sleep: I love sleep and sleep loves me.

What I miss: Not gonna lie - I would love a good cold IPA.

Cravings: Strawberry Jam, potatoes, apples, cheese, OJ

Best Moment of this week: Finding out what we are having and telling our family in Cali. And of course our trip to Cali.

Funny Moment this week: I got a little emotional one day and I was talking to my Sister and my Mom and here is how it went:

Me - Preston is annoying me
Sister - Why?
Me - He's being way too nice - then I start crying
Sister and Mom - both laugh
Me - Then I laugh

Baby + BFF

One of the things I couldn't wait to do when I found out I was pregnant was to tell my bestie QC.

A week or so after we found out I had plans to go to Charleston to visit her, so my plan was to tell her in person. I had a whole big thing planned.

Now let me tell you not calling her right away and telling her was the hardest thing ever. I hate keeping anything from her. But she is family and she was the one family member I could tell her person since the rest of my family doesn't live in Georgia or even close enough to drive to one weekend.

Sadly this didn't work out for us. So I ended up having to tell her over the phone. It was still special and was a moment I won't forget.

I finally made my way to Charleston and bestie being the amazing best friend that she is had all this for me.

Of course she made the sign - love it so much!

And how much do you love the bag she had made and all the wonderful goodies she got me. I use the bag every time I go to the Doctor.

I'm so lucky to have her. She will be the best Aunt.

Mercier Orchards

On Sunday we headed up to Blue Ridge Mountain to go to Mercier Orchards.

I have been craving apples like crazy and also had a huge craving for some fresh cider and donuts.

The place was jammin - so very busy.

We headed into the general store area and were blown away by all they had to offer.

We headed straight back for the apples.

I totally sampled every apple they had that day. Yummy in my tummy.

Afterwards we checked out what else they had to offer.

Here is what we left with

And now the very best part - The Cider and Donuts. We found a cozy place outside to enjoy.

So you know the best way to eat these donuts is to dip them in the cider. Oh man so good!

A new kind of Sunday Funday for us.

Maternity Clothes: I've ordered a ton and wore some pants today but they were way too big. Maternity sizes are so hard to guess. I'm working a post about this now.

Gender: We find out Next Friday!!!!! (what do yall think??)

Movement: I swear I'm feeling little boo move. It's the best.

Sleep: Starting to get harder to fall asleep after I wake up to use the bathroom.

What I miss: Still my energy and also not having headaches daily.

Cravings: Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal ( really anything Cinnamon), Chex Mix, Apples, Carrots

Best Moment of this week: Feeling the baby move and having QC here last weekend and talking baby stuff with her.

While I may not be able to partake in all the new fun clothes - unless they are maternity. I can think about new fall shoes.

Here are some of my faves.

♥ Grey Hunter Wellies - I have a red pair and would love to add this grey pair to my collection. To be honest I would love to add every color but I'll start with Grey.

♥ Steve Madden Intyce - I have lusted after these brown boots for awhile. I have a very similar pair from Target but those bad boys are starting to fall apart. Sadz. I have the Intyce in black and would love the brown ones.

♥ Tory Burch Leopard Eddie Flat - While I love a good pair of Revas I'm drawn to the leopard eddie flat. So very pretty. I feel like leopard flats are the perfect fall accessory and add to any outfit.

ps Look for Less - I have these from Target. They are much prettier in person.

♥ Steve Madden Teapea - I'm loving Moccasin flats right now. I just think they are the perfect accessory to jeans and a tee and look oh so comfy.

Now if only I could get a guarantee that my feet won't get bigger due to pregnancy....

Maternity Clothes: None yet. But I did order a ton of stuff this week for work and our trip to Cali.

Gender: Our appointment is set for October right before we leave for Cali. SO excited!

Movement: Sometimes I feel like I feel something when I'm sleeping.

Sleep: I just can't get enough.

What I miss: Still my energy - please come back to me!

Cravings: Cheese, OJ with ice in it, Peanut Butter toast, Cereal

Best Moment of this week: Hearing the little babies heartbeat and finding a doctor that is on board with my plan. I was starting to feel like the chick from knocked up.

Oh baby baby* - 15 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: No idea. I don't own a scale.

Maternity Clothes: None yet. But I do have some jeans and shirts from the Gap.

Gender: Haven't found out yet. But my Mom had a dream that we had a boy and my grandma was watching it. So now I totally think boy.

Movement: None.

Sleep: I fall asleep in a snap but have to get up once or twice to use the restroom and then I fall right back asleep. I get about 9-1o hours a night but it's still not enough.

What I miss: Having energy and not being nauseous.

Cravings: Cheese, OJ with ice in it. Not together though.

Best Moment of this week: Planning our trip to Cali to see my older sister.

Pregnancy + Working out

I've had a few emails regarding my workout routine now that I'm pregnant.

As you all know I love to workout. It's nice to wake up early and get my workout on or come home from work and go for a run with my husband. We both had a nice little routine.

Well that all changed when I got pregnant.

Let me just say that I feel so blessed and happy to be pregnant but this hasn't been easy for me.

I've been extremely nauseous and beyond exhausted.

Which leads to my lack of working out. (sadly)

I honestly use all my energy at work and when I get home it's hard for me to even stay awake. I take Foxy for a walk just about every night and then I'm honestly done for.

But oooh some days, some glorious days I feel great and I venture out for a run among other things.

I will say that most nights I try to at least do some squats and lunges and push ups. Even if it's just 5 - every little bit helps.

I think the most important thing about all of this is that I'm listening to my body and realizing that right now what's best for myself and the baby is to take it easy and not push too hard.

Not to say that it hasn't been a bit frustrating for me and I was really hoping that once I got into my second trimester I would feel better and the exhaustion would go away but so far they are both sticking around.

I spoke to my Doctor about this all and she assured me that all is well with me and not to worry about this. Just take it easy and listen to my body.

Point taken Doc.

But I will say I have this really (optimistic) feeling that 15 weeks is going to be my time and my energy will be back and so will the nightly workouts.

Okay let's get to the good stuff.

How Far Along are you?
♥ Almost 13 weeks

When are you due?
♥ Early March

How are you Feeling?
♥ While I haven't tossed my cookies(yet) but I've been so very nauseous. Most days I feel like I'm rocking back and forth on a boat. But I've manage to keep my cool. Besides that I'm just plum tired out. I take Foxy for a walk when I get home and then fall right asleep on the couch. Growing this baby is hard work and instead of my usual 9 hours of sleep a night (yup it's true) I need about 11 now. I'm really hoping this will all let up a bit and I can get my energy and my sea legs back.

Boy or Girl? And will I find out?
♥ Of yes we will be finding out. Some days I feel boy and others I feel girl. Right now Preston feels like it's a girl. My sister had a dream about a boy. So honestly who knows. We have great names for both. (which I won't be sharing..sorry)

Food
♥ This hasn't been easy for me. Food is just starting to sound good to me. Basically I eat a lot of fruit and lots of OJ and peanut butter toast. (of course other stuff) Oh and lots of black beans..I just can't get enough. I've added in two to three greek yogurts a day since I'm a veggie and need to get a lot of protein. I just make sure I'm snacking all day. That seems to help.

Baby
♥ The baby is looking great and right on track. Although they did say to us that they baby already has some long legs. No surprise since I'm 6' tall and Preston is 6'2''.

But listen I need my sleep and I wake up early.

But last night...oooh last night granny went out on a school night! Watch out now.

We hit up One Midtown Kitchen with some friends - Reservations weren't until 8pm!

Here is my review for One Midtown Kitchen
-Waitress was rude
-Pincher bug on our table - Waitress was annoyed by it
-She didn't bring me what I ordered and then told me they didn't have enough left to give me - the place was empty
-On the plus side the french fries are really good...like really good

Oh and then this happened when we left

I was trying to act like I was at a Rave, you know because of the lights behind me, but I ended up looking like this guy

I feel like I'm in good company with the Great Cornholio.

Anyways...I got my act together and we went to JCT and had one final drink.

Do I look tired because let me tell you I was exhausted as this point.

True Story - I didn't go to sleep until 12:30.

Let's just say that my hair is going on day 2 of not washing(what? don't judge) and I just ate like 5 bagels.

So our guest bedroom is about 90% complete and I love it so very much.

Funny story first though before I share pics. It took me weeks to pick out the perfect paint color for the guest room. And then I knew I found the right color and I couldn't wait for it. I told Preston the color and he went and got it and the painting begun.

Then it was complete and I hated it. It was so much lighter than what I had thought it was going to be. I couldn't sleep and I couldn't stop thinking about it. I just didn't understand how it was so light when I picked the darkest color in the set of three. Preston thought I was being crazy.

Cut to when we are doing some touchups and I ask Preston to go and get the paint and I was like ummmm this isn't the color I picked out! And he's like you wanted "Aqua Pura".... nope honey I wanted "Spa". He goes "Oooooh yea...opps!" So now who is the crazy one. (still me)

So you know when you have a room in your house that isn't your favorite but you think well it's not that bad.

And then you start to redo and look at old pictures and are beyond embarrassed that you ever let people stay in that room and just how ugly it was.

Well these are my feelings regarding our guest bedroom.

Total embarrassment. And dude it's like we just throw a bunch of random stuff in that room and were like oh this looks good. Yikes.

Let talk about this picture
1. Yall...how old is that alarm clock..it's like really?!
2. While I was in love with the purple beadspread when I get it 5 years ago...not so much anymore
3. This paint color just makes me sad now - how did our guest not leave the house depressed from this color
4. We hung these so we could add some character to the room...FAIL. (although I will be keeping the frames and painting them)

Ahhhh like I can't even begin with this picture. SO....MUCH...STUFF! And yall how funny is that little baby tv..he's just a little guy. (preston won it) Just wait until you see the after photo. Good bye random stuff.

Preston didn't like the closet doors so he just ripped them off, no big deal. These curtain doors were a quick fix.

Let's talk about the big huge speaker/intercom box thing in the guest bedroom. Actually we have them all over the house. Sadly they don't work because if they did that would be AWESOME! They have this feature where you can eavesdrop on another room to see what the people are talking about...love it...if they worked! But now they are an eye sore and I can't wait to rip that bad boy out.

So welcome to our guest bedroom. I wouldn't blame you for not wanting to stay in that room with the way it looks in those pics. Although that bed is probably the most comfortable bed ever...right QC?!

Oooooh now the good stuff...we are in total redecorate mode in the room. And yall I'm almost done, and hope to be by this weekend AND I can't wait to share the new and improved guest bedroom and invite you over to stay!

Krog Bar

Last Saturday (after the recommendation of twitter) we headed to the Krog Bar.

Here is a little background on the place:

"After visiting Spain, Kevin returned with a vision of an intimate wine bar with small tapas plates. Working along with the restaurant designers and architects, he opened Krog Bar and did just that. He incorporated all types of Spanish style cuisines into a menu and atmosphere, which has some of the same staples as day one and now features daily specials of hot plates. Krog Bar's intimate interior adds to the warmth of dining in this award winning Spanish style wine bar"

The Krog Bar is something special. Just big enough that it doesn't feel crowded and just small enough that it feels intimate.

Sadly we didn't get a seat on the patio outside, which looked just wonderful. But we did get a seat at the high top instead and enjoyed it just as much. Plus they had the doors and windows open.

As I talked about here, I've changed things up recently and started working out in the morning.

And yall sometimes it's just plain hard to get up so early and get motivated. I usually don't have problems getting up on Monday, Wednesday and Friday since I take a class those mornings. But now come Tuesday and Thursday I'm like ugh.

Most times I ran those days but running on treadmill is truly running on the dreadmill. Until it's lighter out and a bit warmer in the mornings I can't start to run outside.

I've been trying to figure out what I should do on those days. I needed a plan.

Enter - Lainey at Lainey Gossip. It's one of my fave gossip sites, go now and read it (laugh a lot) and then come back here.

She was talking about her circuit training routine she did while she was working out next to Collin Farrell in L.A. at a hotel gym. (no big deal)

I was interested and yesterday she posted a sample of what she does. I got excited.

Here is the plan(I modified some stuff so see my thoughts next to each):

Oh and since I work out in the morning I did this in the workout class that was empty, which was nice. I would leave my stuff and then jump on treadmill for the quick run and return.

Ooh Ooh and keep moving between workouts - don't stop that's the point of circuit training. But if you do need a break take a 10 - 20 sec walk around. (ps I'm not a trainer or anything like that so this is just me talking)

Circuit 1

20 push-ups - I start out doing full and then have to go to girl pushups - Try a few full on pushups!
20 bent over rows each side
20 bicep curls
20 tricep push-ups
60 seconds of punching with 3 or 5 lb weights in each hand (pretend you’re boxing!) - This one is fun!

Then run at 6.5 for 3 minutes

Circuit 2

20 walking lunges - I used weights
20 hamstring curls - I did dead lifts with weights
20 side leg lifts
20 squats - I used weights for the first time and none the second time
60 second wall sit

Then run at 7.0 for 3 minutes

Circuit 3

60 seconds front plank
20 full sit-ups
20 seconds bicycle abs
20 “e-centric sit-ups” – quick up, slow all the way down
20 weighted woodchops with a lunge - I had to modify since I'm having a shoulder/back issue

Then run at 7.5 for 3 minutes

Repeat all circuits and all runs - It takes an hour.

I'm telling yall it's awesome. It keeps your energy up and I was excited for the run and then onto the next circuit. Try it!!
